When I heard “Tata Safari” word for the first time, I thought it was a kind of adventurous journey to a distant place by riding a car. And, I was totally wrong. Tata safari is name of car; it is exactly an SUV, produced by Tata Motors in India. I have to apologize for my misunderstanding to Tata Motors. Tata Safari is one of India’s prides to shoe all over the world. This is the first SUV to be developed, and manufactured in India. And, yeah, the design was also started in India.
The first generation of Tata Safari was launched in 1998, and the second generation was launched at 2007. And, the next generation, that is the third generation, will be launched in 2011. Well, it’s now better to peel and analyze the recent generation of Tata Safari.
The new Tata Safari (second generation) is powered by different engine variants. First, it is a 486 DL turbo-charged engine which is able to churn out 90 PS at 4300 rpm. And the second one is the DICOR model with 2.2 L valve DICOR engine. The latest model of Safari can deliver a 140 PS at 4000 rpm. More than that, Tata Safari also comes with petrol version with MPFI engine that is able to churn out 127 PS at 5630 rpm.
